Raymond James welcomes Michigan advisor duo with over $350 million in assets

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – Raymond James recently welcomed financial advisors David Vallie and Mitch Vallie, CFP® to Raymond James & Associates (RJA) – the firm’s employee advisor channel – in Grand Blanc, Michigan, according to Dominic Prioli, Great Lakes regional director for RJA.

The advisors operate as Vallie Wealth Management of Raymond James and join the firm from Merrill Lynch, where they previously managed $353 million in client assets. The team includes senior registered client service associate Michelle A. Loney. Together, the group works with a variety of clients, including business owners, families, individuals, retirees and foundations.

“The foundation of our practice is built upon our client relationships. Our clients and the trust they put in us have always been our top priority. We aim to serve each one of them to the highest standard and pride ourselves on always putting their needs first. We were drawn to Raymond James largely because the firm shares the same commitment.,” said David Vallie, managing director.

David has led a distinguished 35-year career in financial services, earning several accolades, including being named to Forbes’ Best-in-State Wealth Advisors list in 2021 for the fourth consecutive year. He began his career with First International Investment Corp., remaining there through several acquisitions, the latest by Morgan Stanley in 2009 and Merrill Lynch in 2012.

“Raymond James allocates resources from a client-focused lens and has equipped us with a great suite of research, technology, and planning tools that will not only help us engage our current clients on a thoughtful level but also allow us to develop new relationships,” said Mitch Vallie, senior vice president, wealth management. “Throughout our due-diligence process, it was refreshing to find a firm built upon the same client-centered values that we have woven into our practice, and we feel confident that this is a great move for our clients and a great move for Vallie Wealth Management.”

Inspired to join the financial services industry by his father, Mitch spent the first seven years of his career with Merrill Lynch. He holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from Oakland University and obtained his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM designation in 2017.

“It is with great pleasure that I welcome David and Mitch to Raymond James,” said Prioli. “The combination of multi-generational talent and longstanding commitment to client service has allowed them to build a truly exceptional practice.”

The Forbes ranking of Best-In-State Wealth Advisors, developed by SHOOK Research, is based on an algorithm of qualitative criteria, mostly gained through telephone and in-person due diligence interviews, and quantitative data. Those advisors that are considered have a minimum of seven years of experience, and the algorithm weights factors like revenue trends, assets under management, compliance records, industry experience and those that encompass best practices in their practices and approach to working with clients. Portfolio performance is not a criteria due to varying client objectives and lack of audited data. Out of approximately 32,725 nominations, more than 5,000 advisors received the award. This ranking is not indicative of an advisor’s future performance, is not an endorsement, and may not be representative of individual clients’ experience. Neither Raymond James nor any of its financial advisors or RIA firms pay a fee in exchange for this award/rating. Raymond James is not affiliated with Forbes or SHOOK Research, LLC.
