Raymond James continues Idaho expansion, welcomes $340 million advisor team

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – Continuing Raymond James’ expansion in the Midwest, the firm welcomed Tom Killingsworth, CFP®, CRPS® to Raymond James & Associates (RJA) – the firm’s employee advisor channel, according to Michael O’Meara, Midwest regional director for RJA.

“It is with great pride that we welcome Tom to Raymond James as the firm continues its strong record of growth across the Midwest,” said O’Meara. “The surge of approximately $1 billion in client assets to our Idaho complex in the last six months alone is a testament to the firm’s value proposition for financial advisors.”

Based out of Boise, Idaho and with over 21 years of experience in financial services, Killingsworth heads Killingsworth Investment Group of Raymond James, which serves a diverse mix of clients, from corporate executives to families. He previously managed over $340 million in client assets with Wells Fargo Clearing Services and is joined by senior client service associate Malissa Welch, as well as financial advisor trainee John Killingsworth.

Killingsworth is the latest of several advisors joining RJA’s Idaho Complex, led by branch manager Todd Lovell, CFP®, CEP®. Earlier this year, Raymond James announced the addition of four other Idaho-based advisors collectively managing more than $650 million in client assets, including Greg Fairfield, Christine Satterfield, Linda Stirling and Harry Tharp.

“We chose to align with Raymond James because of the firm’s client-first approach and forward-thinking in regards to equipping advisor teams with superior research, technology and planning tools,” said Killingsworth, senior vice president, wealth management. “Building personal relationships with clients has always been our priority at Killingsworth Investment Group. The combination of culture and resources that Raymond James offers will help us further deepen our existing client connections and foster new ones.”

Killingsworth began his career as a financial advisor at A. G. Edwards & Sons in 2000, remaining during the firm’s subsequent acquisitions by Wachovia and Wells Fargo. He was commissioned as an officer in the Navy and completed training in nuclear engineering before serving onboard an attack submarine. After completing his initial tour, Killingsworth remained a reserve officer and completed multiple deployments to Southwest Asia. Killingsworth is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin with a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering. He is also a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM professional and a Chartered Retirement Plans SpecialistSM.
