Raymond James welcomes Idaho financial advisor groups collectively managing more than $650 million in client assets

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – Raymond James recently welcomed four financial advisors to Raymond James & Associates (RJA) – the firm’s employee advisor channel, according to Michael O’Meara, Northern regional director for RJA. The Idaho-based advisors include Greg Fairfield, Christine Satterfield, Linda Stirling and Harry Tharp.

Satterfield and Tharp join Raymond James from Wells Fargo, where they previously managed approximately $341 million in client assets. The team operates as Satterfield Financial Strategies Group of Raymond James and is expected to continue their work from RJA’s Boise office, which is managed by Todd Lovell.

“After many hours of thought and discussion, Raymond James’s focus on clients made the decision clear,” said Satterfield. “We’re pleased to join this prestigious firm and, together, look forward to continuing our efforts of offering unparalleled service to clients.”

“We undertook an exhaustive 18-month investigation of all the possible firms for our team to affiliate with. The combination of platform, people, and culture at Raymond James made them the obvious choice,” said Tharp.

Managing director Satterfield has been in the financial services industry for over 24 years. She began her career with Merrill Lynch and moved to Wells Fargo in 2008, where she remained until this year. In 2020, Satterfield was named to the Forbes Top 1000 Women Advisor List, and in 2021, was named the publication’s ranking of Best in State Advisors.

Tharp serves as first vice president, investments at Satterfield Financial Strategies Group. His tenure in the financial industry spans three decades, half of which was spent with Merrill Lynch. Tharp subsequently held management positions and served clients at Morgan Stanley in 2005 and Wells Fargo in 2011.

Operating as Pacific Mountain Group of Raymond James, mother and son duo Stirling and Fairfield are joined by Suzanne Jenner, a senior registered client associate. Before joining Raymond James, the Ketchum-based team managed $307 million in client assets as part of UBS Financial.

“Raymond James is known for having an exceptional culture, spanning from unshakable values to proactive communication practices among employees. However, what most stood out to our team was a driving focus on continual improvement,” said Stirling. “The emphasis on transformative technology and creating opportunities for advisors to develop personally and professionally is a sign of great things to come for the firm.”

“Ultimately, our decision to join Raymond James boiled down to two key factors—technology and culture,” said Fairfield. “We’re excited to share the immediate benefits of this transition with our clients as we continue to focus on providing them with unparalleled service and expert advice they have come to expect.”

Hailing from Sun Valley and now settled in San Diego, Stirling has led a 34-year career in the financial services industry. She got her start in 1987 at Merrill Lynch, where she spent over a decade until moving to RBC Capital and later UBS. Stirling earned a Bachelor of Arts from Occidental College and holds a graduate degree from the University of Southern California. She was selected for Forbes’s Top 1000 Women Advisor List for 2019 and 2020.

With nearly 14 years of financial services experience, Fairfield serves as first vice president, wealth management for Pacific Mountain Group. He is a graduate of Pepperdine University and the San Diego Golf Academy, culminating in a 13-year career as a PGA Golf Professional. Fairfield later joined UBS in 2008 as a financial advisor.
