Raymond James welcomes financial advisors managing $195 million in assets in Florida
Spirit of independence and superior support attract team of financial advisors
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – Raymond James welcomed financial advisors Eric Cornell and Patrick Shea in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, to Raymond James Financial Services (RJFS) – the firm’s independent advisor channel – according to Todd Gartrell, Southeast division director for RJFS.
Joining Raymond James as Helius Wealth Management, the team led by financial advisors Cornell and Shea includes branch associates Margaret Scaparotti and Alana Cornell, as well as client service associates Josefine Troneby and John Nelson. The financial advisors and team members joined from Ameriprise Financial Services, where they previously managed approximately $195 million in client assets. They serve a variety of clients including business owners, corporate executives, families and physicians.
“The biggest draw to Raymond James is the independence and the ability to make decisions that are best for our clients,” said Cornell, branch owner. “Since coming on board, the support of the home office and the people we interact with day-to-day has been tremendous. The ease of doing business has surpassed our expectations at every turn and I’m confident that our clients will benefit.”
Prior to joining Raymond James, Cornell spent two decades at Ameriprise Financial Services, rising through the ranks as a financial advisor and later as a district manager, private wealth advisor and managing director. In addition to holding several professional certifications including CFP®, CRPC®, APMA®, ChFC®, Cornell earned a Bachelor of Science degree in finance from St. Bonaventure University.
“After thorough due diligence, we found that the culture at Raymond James is the best fit for our team’s transition to independent advisors. I’m confident that the tools and technology available will allow us to continue to add value to our clients through the financial planning process,” said Shea, private wealth advisor.
Shea also previously worked at Ameriprise Financial Services, joining the firm in 2008 until his transition to Raymond James. He is CRPC® certified and holds an associate degree from the Art Institute of Atlanta. Later Shea studied business administration at Palm Beach State College.
